Welcome Home, Jasmine!

Yesterday, our Rooted Interiors team gathered once again for one of our favorite days of the year — a Rooting Day. Each Rooting Day is a reminder of why we do what we do: transforming empty walls into warm homes and offering a fresh start to families stepping out of homelessness and into stability.

This Rooting Day was all about Jasmine — a strong, determined 23-year-old mother whose story embodies courage, grace, and renewal.

Her Journey to Stability

Jasmine’s story began with hardship but is filled with resilience. Adopted at just two years old, she grew up in foster care and later faced challenges in her relationship with her adoptive mother. By the time she reached adulthood, those difficulties left her without a place to call home.

After spending time on the streets, Jasmine found shelter in Gainesville, where she began rebuilding her life. Three months later, she entered Wellroot’s Safety Net Transitional Housing Program, a partnership that provides women with the support, stability, and life skills needed to thrive.

Since joining the program in May, Jasmine has worked consistently, secured a vehicle, and—most recently—signed a lease for her very own apartment. With Wellroot’s ongoing rental assistance and case management, Jasmine is determined to maintain her independence and create a stable, nurturing home for her daughter.

A Home Full of Heart

When we first met Jasmine, she radiated positivity and gratitude. Though she had no furniture or outside support, her spirit was anything but empty. Her joy, perseverance, and faith in the process were contagious from the very beginning.

On Rooting Day, volunteers from Rooted Interiors came together to completely furnish her new apartment — from cozy living room seating to a warm bedroom for her and a cheerful, playful space for her two-year-old daughter. Each item placed, every pillow fluffed, was chosen with intention and love.

As Jasmine walked through the door, her eyes filled with tears and she let out screams of joy! This was more than just furniture; it was a new chapter — a place to breathe, rest, and dream.

In Her Own Words:

“Hi, my name is Jasmine, I’m 23 years old and I have a 2-year-old daughter. Majority of my life I suffered with depression, and when I got pregnant, I was at the lowest point of my life. I didn’t know what to do or how I was going to take care of myself on top of a baby. The day she was born was the day that I was reborn, and I decided that I was going to live for my daughter. Ever since then, no matter how rocky the road, there have been so many beautiful memories I’ve made with her. Becoming her mother was the best thing that’s happened to me, and I’m honored to watch her grow and enjoy life!”

Rooted in Hope

Jasmine’s story reminds us that home is more than a roof—it’s a place of restoration, love, and possibility. With the support of our volunteers, donors, and community partners like Wellroot, we’re honored to help families like Jasmine’s find stability and hope.

Each Rooting Day plants seeds of renewal, and each story—like Jasmine’s—shows how deeply lives can change when we come together to serve.

Welcome Home, Amya & A’mora

There’s something sacred about preparing a space for a new life—and this past Rooting Day, we had the honor of doing just that for a beautiful young mother and her newborn baby girl.
