A Fresh Start for a Brave Mom of Four

We recently had the honor of partnering with Fully Furnished Ministries, our newest collaborator in the mission of transforming empty spaces into homes filled with dignity, comfort, and hope. The family we served was referred to Fully Furnished, and through God’s perfect timing, we joined together to provide both the basics and the beauty that would help this family begin again — rooted in love.

The mother is a strong, courageous single mom of four. Her oldest son is autistic and also navigating kidney disease, while her two teenage daughters fill their home with joy and resilience. After fleeing domestic violence, they lost everything including her 8-year old son during her escape. Without a stable home, a furnished space for him, or any sense of normalcy, she had no legal ground to get him back. When mom and the three kids finally moved into a new place, it remained completely empty for a month and a half. No furniture. No comforts. No sense of stability. Just the hope that something better was coming.

And something better did come — God made a way through your generosity, your prayers, and your willingness to serve.

Fully Furnished Ministries provided core essentials — a sofa, dining table, bed-frame, futon, and dressers — laying the foundation for this family’s new beginning. And through a generous donation from Jefferson Church, something truly special happened: a superhero-themed twin bed, as requested by mom knowing her son would love it, was gifted for the 8-year-old boy.

A bed. A furnished room. A home. Because of that, she can now move forward with the process of bringing her son home.

Rooted Interiors filled in the rest — with heart, warmth, and design that reflected each family member’s spirit. With the help of our amazing volunteers and donors, we brought warmth, style, and soul into every room. From cozy bedding and thoughtful design touches to stocked kitchens and a special space for each child, we watched a once-empty house turn into a true home.

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do — and how powerful partnership can be. We’re so grateful to Fully Furnished Ministries for serving this family and allowing us to walk alongside them in the process.

To our volunteers, donors, and prayer warriors: THANK YOU. You were the hands and feet of Jesus in this home, and because of you, four beautiful children and one brave mom now rest their heads in a space filled with peace.
