Board Member Spotlight: Hannah

In an effort to help spread our mission, we have taken the time to interview each of our board members. Meet Hannah McCray - Veteran, Realtor at Keller Williams, and Owner of her two business: J&K Play Yard and J&K Up and Away. We recently interviewed Hannah about her involvement with Rooted Interiors and why our mission is particularly close to her heart.

When did you join Rooted Interiors?

I am a founding board member since January 2024

Why did you become involved with Rooted Interiors, and what has your involvement looked like over time?

I became involved in Rooted Interiors because of the abundant need our community and families across the world have. I believe that we are blessed so we can be a blessing. Thus far, I have helped spread the word about our organization, become plugged in with the needs of our community, and assisted in jumpstarting our fundraising process.

What makes our mission meaningful to you?

Our mission is meaningful to me because all I can see in the families we help is my own family. As parents, we all want the very best for our children, regardless of the situation.

How would you describe the goals of the organization, and how will/does the organization achieve these goals?

The goal of our organization is to combat homelessness by giving families who are transitioning a home, not just a house. To root them in their home and surroundings so they not only have a place to rest their head at night, but a beautiful home to be proud of and work hard for.

If this organization were to be on the cover of your favorite newspaper or magazine in five years, what would the story be about?

The story for me would be: I remember sitting at Kristina's dining room table for the first board meeting. We all felt overwhelmed, but in a good way. Overwhelmed by the amount of families in our backyard that needed assistance. While overwhelmed, we were ready. Ready to combat these issues and stand with these families. Not only to bring them to a nice home, but root them in Christ throughout the process. Without faith we wouldn't be where we are today and I'm thankful we all pushed through and have made it!
